Woods

Here are some more woods I've just finished. Originally i purchase very small rare-earth magnets, and embedded them into each side of the tree and base. These magnets are very strong. Strong enough to hold the trees upright on the bases. It was perfect. Then I flocked the trees, and the flock and glue increased the tree weight enough that the magnet could no longer hold....it was disasters. I had to dig out the magnets and reattach the trees permanently to their bases. Ah well. Live and learn. heheh

Closeup of a single stand, I think I made 14 or so.Here they are, I cut out felt material in random shapes to delineate the edge of the wood.

Here's a birds-eye view, that's a 6-foot coffee table.

A bit closer view. They look pretty good.

Tower Terrain

So the local hobby shop gets free kits sometimes and they ask me to use them for new store terrain. In case you have learned by now, I dont like keeping kits whole for 2 reasons:

#1 because I feel like thats how you will mostly encounter kits, whole, painted just like you see on the box.

#2 Plastic kits often dont go easily together how the instructions say they should.

#3 I prefer to base my terrain. I use MDF type board, and bevel the edges.

Inside the tower base with a single wall layer topped with ruined wall bitz.

Side view of same.

Here is the top of the tower, and 2 lower floors on a scratch-made base. pinebark nuggets, and some hirst columns.
